3.5 stars, but rounded down as there’s not much vnew, but a good story nonetheless. As I’m a little older than the widowed bookstore owner, I was a little taken aback at how very old she seemed to have been written, but I thought the younger bookstore clerks seemed more age-appropriate. I love the idea of a indie bookstore that’s packed with people all the time. There was a certain cruelty about the folks who shopped, came to booktalks and called into NPR. I would have liked a little balance with any shopper that someone enjoyed seeing, if only for the sake of all the indie bookstores out there who’d like to keep up the pretense that they like their customer base.
