I am SHOCKED at how much I loved this book. Katie could write me a grocery list and I'd read it, but I wasn't sure about the plot. A girl caught in love triangle between two brothers? But I loved that NO ONE was perfect in this book. EVERYONE made mistakes. And I love love loved how Katie captured the small town feel, and the Hudson Valley feel (my favorite place on earth!).
Molly did the unthinkable: cheat on her "forever" boyfriend with his brother. She left for boarding school soon after - however not because of what had happened, but because she was offered a track scholarship. Her mother takes her story and makes it into a bestselling novel and then (stupidly, in my opinion but…whatever) announces it is based on her daughter's life in a magazine article. The summer before starting college, she returns and is clearly an outcast.
Man…this book. I LOVE what it said about people and mistakes and cheating and slut-shaming. And the writing! While not as gorgeous as Katie's debut, it was still so so so strong and yes, again, I'd read a grocery list by Katie. Bravo, K. Can't wait to see what book 3 is!
