I really enjoyed this. One of the things I liked best was the found family vibe between Kat and Liam.
When they were 4 and 5 years old, Kat and Liam’s parents met and eloped over the course of a week in Vegas. Liam’s father left them alone in a hotel room saying to Liam “take care of your sister”.
They left the room. They got lost. Kat’s mom was furious and left Liam’s dad immediately. Over a decade passes before Kat and Liam see each other again.
Liam’s dad is still a con man and now Kat’s mom is a jewel thief.
They run into each other on the way to the same party, each has an elaborate plan to con someone at the party.
Liam and Kat are along for the ride. Liam because he got invited by his dad’s girlfriend and Kat because she basically tricks her mom.
Kat’s mom gets sick immediately after they arrive at the party.
And shortly afterwards, someone is shot.
Kat and Liam band together to stay safe and figure out what’s going on. They also connect with Augustus and I loved Augustus too.
I loved seeing the brother and sister vibe for Liam and Kat.
I’d have never guessed the source of all the crimes committed at the party. It got pretty wild for awhile but it kept me guessing.
