What happens to us when we become obsessed with understanding the fundamental nature of reality? When we become untethered from the trappings of identity and society, where do we go? If gaining ultimate understanding of the universe is the mission of science, is that sufficient to justify the succession of Pandora’s boxes we may inadvertently open along the way?
