Pestilence

4.5 stars.
I really enjoyed reading this. I thought it was written well, I enjoyed the characters, and I really love the concept. It did feel a little long in places (which slightly worries me about book two, because it’s a lot longer) but overall I really enjoyed it.
Honestly, I couldn’t not like it, it had some of my favourite tropes (virgin hero, apocalyptic, some forbidden love going on, some kidnapping, a villain turned hero etc etc) and I’m really eager to see where this series as a whole goes. And I’m really hoping it goes to different parts of the world (the synopsis of book 2 makes me think so) so now I’m just left wondering WHERE they’ll be set.
Anyway, in short, I’m excited. Probably won’t continue this before the year ends, but definitely putting it on my 2020 must reads.
