Kai and Rowan are the best parts of the story. Rowan was extremely patient with Shay. And he did get her to let loose a bit. But my goodness, she drove me crazy!! I felt so bad for Kai! He wasn't allowed to do anything or enjoy anything. And shay kept forcing her issues on her friends, their kids, and their significant others. That's what pissed me off the most about her through the other books, too. Cancer and sickness can come for anyone! She was ridiculous. I really had to skim her povs because I was over her crap halfway through. Rowan is the sweetest ever, though, and he made the book bearable! Kai is also the cutest kid on the planet!!! I'm so glad Rowan came into both of their lives. Shay to finally relax and let go. And for Kai to have a dad and be able to just be a kid.
