The Pucking Wrong Date
by C.R. Jane
By the third book in this series, the pattern is pretty clear. While the female lead here is definitely the most likable so far—easy to root for and genuinely charming—the story itself feels like a familiar tune. It starts with the usual tragic childhood involving her mom and ends with the hockey player swooping in to "save" the day. It’s not bad, just predictable. That said, the spice level is still solid, so if you're reading for the heat rather than the plot, this one delivers.
