Breathers: A Zombie's Lament by S.G. Browne
5.0
This is easily one of my all-time-favourite books that I will happily read again-and-again. A refreshing take on zombie's. Rather than the usual unstoppable apocalypse/extreme survival story that generally defines the zombie genre, this is a slower, sweeter, more character driven tale of loss, love and the desire to resort to cannibalism every-now-and-then.
Told from the unusual perspective of the zombie's themselves, this is a story about societies outcasts desperately seeking acceptance...and a little preservative to keep their flesh from slipping off.
