Walls perfectly captures what it feels like to be in a family that lives permanently below the norm, both the love and the camaraderie and the sinking realization that sometimes life isn't always just a grand adventure. The clear affection and insight with which she writes about her parents and siblings is touching and addictive. You will cheer, cry, laugh, and occasionally wish you'd been along for the ride.
