Loved this book. There are fine heroes and fine villains. The economic diversity of the characters adds an element to this novel that makes it extremely worthwhile, as those that come from lowlier backgrounds are fleshed out in a way that makes their virtue plain. Betsy Trotwood is one of my favorite characters in history.
