Star Wars: Darth Vader - Dark Lord of the Sith Vol. 2 by Charles Soule
4.0
I took a little more time with this second volume because I wanted to savor all the Darth-Vader-y goodness and it was indeed so very good! The arc on Mon Cala with king Lee-Char was really excellent - a bit more densely political compared to the stories from the first volume, in a good way! The flashback to the clone wars knocked me DEAD.
The mustafar section was also very cool, but I feel like I wanted it to play out slightly differently? The whole Momin thing was odd..., and the actual mechanism of resurrection was a bit vague. I loved the series of flashbacks (and possibly flashforwards?) showing all the pivotal moments in Anakin's life (I just watched clone wars and rebels so the stuff with Ahsoka.... big feels), but I'm not really clear on why he couldn't resurrect Padme. Having said that, I think it makes a ton of sense that his inability to resurrect her and finally letting go of that was what finalized his transition from Anakin to Darth Vader.
The annual was cool and made me realize I need to rewatch Rogue One!
I loved this whole comic so much. My first journey into Star Wars canon comics but definitely not my last!
