This book absolutely messed with my head—in the best, most twisted way possible. Every single character is flawed, and not just a little—they're morally rotten in their own unique, jaw-clenching way. It’s like peeling back layers of a rotten onion, and yet I couldn’t stop reading. Laura, in particular, made my skin crawl. I mean, I was this close to chucking my phone across the room because of her. She’s manipulative, cold, and calculated on a level I wasn’t emotionally prepared for.
The only one I could even slightly sympathize with was Tony—poor guy just walked into the fire without knowing he was already burning. You don’t read this book to like the characters. You read it to be sucked into the psychological tornado and then be spit out, stunned and slightly disturbed.
