The Ministry for the Future by Kim Stanley Robinson
4.0

This is optimistic and scientific (with some speculative science) climate change fiction. I liked how it considered the many many perspectives necessary to tackle a problem this complex. Millions die, many species become extinct, many people become climate refugees, but there is hope and progress. Solutions are many pronged and range from using planes to distribute a substance to absorb some solar rays, pumping water onto glacier ice to build it up and sink it back to the ocean floor, developing a new internet, developing a new monetary system, considering creating a new religion, and targeted eco-terrorist activities. And more. It takes a lot to change behaviors. Very readable, many short chapters.
