The Love That Split the World by Emily Henry

2.0

This book just kind of left me going, "Huh(insert shoulder shrug)".

I spent more of my time, just trying to get to the end, than really enjoying the book. So much of the science and explanations of the time-travel, I just skipped over because they just took a bit too much of my effort to try and fully grasp and the reasoning behind all these events just wasn't exciting. Also the ending was a total let-down.

For Matt to be such a likeable person, I didn't care for his character at all. Also, I get kids know how to hide things, but how does a kid with his issues, not get noticed? He was also a bit too whiny for my liking. Natalie's mom seemed to be to sensitive to have a child that was racially diverse. I feel she caused more problems for Natalie than she helped her.

I did like Natalie, her sense of humor and sarcasm. She had some issues but she seemed to be well rounded and I did feel she progressed nicely throughout the book. I enjoyed Natalie's relationship with Megan and I was glad she had someone to share with, who didn't think she was crazy.

I don't know, maybe in another world, I would have loved this book...
