In this sweet quiet picture book, Jabari is ready to jump off the diving board. He has passed all the swim tests and is ready to take the leap. Except sometimes taking that first plunge can be scary. Through patience and encouraging words from Jabari’s father he finally overcomes his fears and gets the courage to jump off the diving board. A simple story with a powerful message. This lovely story is about overcoming one’s fears and taking that leap of faith. A wonderful read aloud that will foster discussions about overcoming fears and celebrating. A must have in elementary libraries.
