Natchez Burning by Greg Iles

4.0

Having just spent time in Mississippi and Louisiana for the first time, this was an interesting and informative read. I learned more about the history and the geography of the locale even though this book is fictitious.

On the downside, this is a long book. All the pieces fit together; there's nothing that I would say shouldn't have been included, but it does take time to make your way through it.

Up until the last 30 pages or so, I thought that I would continue through the rest of the series, even though I knew they would be just as long. As I neared the ending, however, I changed my mind. I just didn't care enough about the remaining characters to see what happened next.

I guess I'd still recommend this book, but not at the top of my list.
