All the Ways We Said Goodbye: A Novel of the Ritz Paris by Lauren Willig, Karen White, Beatriz Williams

5.0

All The Ways We Said Goodbye is the latest audiobook I’ve listened to through the fabulous Libby App. I was attracted to the book by that stylish cover and also because I’ve read books written individually by each of the authors. I was really intrigued to see how well three authors would work together to write one book and let me tell you they have created a magnificent story.

I won’t summarise the book but I loved all three intertwining stories set during the First World War, the Second World War and the 1960s and all connected to the glamour of the Ritz Paris. I would never have guessed that there were three authors involved as the story of Aurelie, Daisy and Babs combined seamlessly. I really enjoy a dual timeline story and here were three timelines for me to enjoy. I was equally invested in the stories of all three women and relished uncovering the secrets of the past. Although some of the connections between the stories is made clear from the beginning, the authors had plenty of surprises in store for their readers.

All The Ways We said Goodbye is an expertly plotted and very well written book which I was totally captivated by. There’s passion and secrets, danger and adventure and at the heart of the book there’s courage. Highly recommended for all historical fiction fans.
