Kill the Boy Band by Goldy Moldavsky

3.0

I didn’t hate Kill the Boy Band, but I didn’t exactly like it either. Honestly it was just kind of “meh” and forgettable. It’s just not exactly my cup of tea, considering that I mostly read dark fantasies.

I wanted a light-hearted read in between some heavier books, and this definitely fell into that category. Unfortunately the writing seemed very underdeveloped and it felt like I was reading fanfiction or something that you’d find on wattpad. All of the characters were aggravating and childish but they’re also like 14 years old and obsessed with a boy band, so maybe that’s why? and I didn’t care for a single one of them. I’d expected this to be a hilarious book making fun of the topic, but there wasn’t anything even remotely funny about it. It was kind of cringey, but then again, there are actual crazy fans out there like this in the world.

I will admit that it was very fast paced and I liked how things turned out in the end. And the whole concept of the story was pretty unique, so the author gets pointers for that at least.
