Gravity's Rainbow
by Thomas Pynchon
DID NOT FINISH: 32%
One of only 2 books I have started and never finished. There is a plot in here somewhere, and I don't mind an experimental approach or a complicated plot, but I do mind when my time is not being respected, and this is a masterclass in faffing about. Lots of characters with little to no personality, occasional good humor interspersed amongst a ton of juvenile nonsense, and long sections of stream-of-consciousness ramblings all just left me feeling exhausted. Apparently the author was on drugs for much of the writing of this, and you can tell. Not nearly entertaining or clever enough to justify the time investment, and in desperate need of some editing.
