The Dark Prophecy by Rick Riordan

4.0

Full Review on my Blog: www.thepunktheory.wordpress.com

I'll keep this one short: The first book in the Trials of Apollo series was great. Despite some initial difficulties I love the novel and couldn't wait for the next part.
The Dark Prophecy turned out to be a worthy follow-up. It's all there: great characters you will care about, amazing humor that will keep you entertained throughout the novel, a gripping story and lots of knowledge on Greek mythology, so you my actually learn something!
In this book, Apollo is not the only familiar face. We get (guest) appearances from many of the characters from the Heroes of Olympus! Riordan adds them just perfectly without overdoing it and still keeping things original.
Furthermore, one of the things I value most about his books is the humor. There are not many books that can make you laugh wholeheartedly and cry in one chapter without seeming weird. Riordan is a master of balance on that respect! I don't want to repeat too much of what I already mentioned in my review on the first installment, however, everything positive about book #1 also goes for book #2.
