Ruckus by L.J. Shen

Can I be honest? I haven't picked up the rest of the Sinners of Saint series after I read Vicious YEARSSSSSS ago because I knew no one would beat Vicious. Sorry. But with the traditional pick-up of the series and I somehow fell down the rabbit hole of getting the sprayed edges...It was time to finally pick-up the rest of the boys because they're now a physical TBR! I did read Vicious recently so I was somewhat more excited to read this given it's Rosie and Ruckus.

While the story is a second chance romance and we kind of get the history of what happened in high school...I never really LOVED them. I should have felt more endeared to Ruckus for the fact he was almost "he fell first" in their new relationship. He was more open about it. He clearly was all in on her when she was hesitant for her sister's and then health's reasons. I mean, I get it. I do and I'm glad the drama of them dating no one really cared about (or the ones they cared about). Maybe Ruckus just wasn't quite as dark for me as Vicious and he was more, well, drugs and alcohol medicating and that's not quite my thing. I guessed part of Ruckus's history, but didn't see the twist. As much as everyone loved his dad and how close he was with everyone, it goes to show that you don't always know what's really going on with a person.

I'm glad they've gotten their HEA, though. I also loved Rosie's little chapter headers about what makes you feel alive. In ways, this book was a good reminder about life and living.
