In the Middle of Somewhere
by Roan Parrish
What felt like half my Goodreads friends read this and so I tried it too. I have to say that I don't like it as much as most of the others, but I like it.
The story is basically two guys learning to love each other and that it's okay to love despite what their past experience showed them so far (especially to Dan) and that it isn't too good to be true. :)
I like that not everything is roses as soon as they meet. They even have some misunderstandings and fights and have to try to understand the other one why they are upset or why they feel uncomfortable with something.
A big plus point for the book - while there is immediately insta-lust, there is no insta-love. :)
I love Dan. I absolutely love Dan. He just hits some buttons of mine and he's just the type of character for which my hearts goes "Hook. Line. Sinker." in 0.1 seconds. I just want to wrap him up in the fluffiest blanket in existence, bring him a huge cup of hot chocolate, give him a hug and tell him everything will be better.
We don't get to see that much of Rex - which isn't that true because we quite learn a lot of his past, but since the story is through Dans eyes, I feel like that I don't know Rex that much/good as Dan. But, I like Rex (can he please come over and cook for me?) and I like how he managed to get under Dans skin and made stuff better. And how Dan managed to get under Rex' skin and made stuff for better for him.
All in all an adorable story about two people finding love and a future together. :)
