Rage Becomes Her: The Power of Women's Anger by Soraya Chemaly

challenging informative reflective slow-paced

4.0

This book provides a wealth of information on gender equality and helpful insights on the expression (and lack thereof) of women’s anger in society. It is a call to embrace anger as a forward-thinking emotion and engage it productively towards combatting injustices against women, starting at home and working outward. As I read, I did find it to be repetitive or verbose at times, and felt that the information could be conveyed more concisely. Also, it seemed like the importance of anger to social change was a bit overstated, almost being presented as a silver bullet to gender inequality. Even so, it is a very helpful guide and paradigm shift for women not to fear anger, but to view it as an asset.
