An Enchantment of Ravens
by Margaret Rogerson
I just finished this book and it was good, I got a little confused at some parts almost like I missed a sentence or two but I’d go back and I hadn’t missed anything. The story is good it’s very much like a court of thorns and roses in which the fae or “fair folks” as they are called in this story live in different seasonal courts, they are beautiful beings, and very strong with different abilities kind of. The powers they have in this book are different and they aren’t supposed to fee emotions or love humans.
There was a bit of insta love which I know a lot of people don’t like because they don’t find it realistic, though I think it is.. you see someone cute that you like and you want to be around that person all the time, maybe it’s not love but it tends to consume you like love or lust. I didn’t find it to be too much.
I liked the book, I really did while I was reading it but then when I stopped I found that I forgot Rooks name. It was good, but not exactly memorable. I almost wish it were a duology so that the ending could have been extended past the last 3 pages or maybe that the story had been slightly longer. It ends before the epilogue with no real end and then the epilogue gives you the foreshadowing of what’s going to happen in the future but you don’t know exactly what will happen. I found myself wanting to know what became of the courts and the fair folk and what is the story with the humans now that ... things changed in their lands? I don’t want to spoil anything.
All in all it was a good story and a short story if you’re looking for something to help you pass the time and keep you entertained. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes fairies and fantasy and romance. I gave this book 4 stars at my initial finish in of the book. I am also looking forward reading more from this author in the future.
