There’s a lot going on in this book, so much so that for a while the romance takes sort of a background role to the several tragic backstories and the ongoing murder mystery. When the romance moves to the forefront, it’s somewhat unearned, especially give the complete lack of trust between the hero and heroine for the majority of the book.

All the same, Bea and Grey have some solid banter and good chemistry, which still made it an enjoyable read.
