Extinction by Douglas Preston
5.0
What if? What if technology existed to bring back extinct species, and what if those species were Neanderthal? Author Douglas Preston brings this speculation to life in this thriller of a book where a theme park type resort offers paying guests the change to view wooly mammoths and other extinct animals. In the initial opening a billionaire's son and his new wife are kidnapped from the resort by what is assumed to be some type of terrorists who are ethically opposed to the use of resurrection biology. Preston delivers an exciting, fast paced thriller that will appeal to readers who love Jurassic Park and in the end chapter he goes on to explain the technology and how close it is to being reality. (it's closer than you think)
