I loved the first book, but this one doesn't even stand in the same league.
I struggled to read 500+ pages, because it is all so boring and repetitive.
The dialogues are very unrealistic. They seem a jumble of philosophical words put in seventeen year old boys' mouths.
Also, i really liked Ari's character in the first book, but here he is just a completely different one.
Yes to a narrative arc where the character changes and evolves, no to a complete and sudden mischaracterization of your own character.
Disappointment is the kindest word I can use, I'm afraid.
