3.5 stars. Not a lot of people know about the monuments men and their efforts to preserve and find art and cultural treasures stolen by the Nazis in World War II. The subject matter was fascinating but I got a little bogged down in the details surrounding each officer. Also the whole book was leading up to the recovery at the Altrausee mine and when we finally got there the details were very anticlimactic and sparse. Interesting story but I would like more detail on the art and recovery and less on each individual man's home and life.
