Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There by Lewis Carroll

3.0

This book is really weird. Which, to be fair, I knew going into it. It's the sequel to Alice in Wonderland, after all. I think everyone is pretty familiar with that book, so I guess that's all you really have to know. You can pretty easily imagine the rest.

It's a whole lot of fun when you know what you're in for. Not my favorite type of book. I prefer somewhat realistic stories with a lot of emotion and thoughtfulness, but books like this aren't bad in their place. I feel like both this book and #1 remind me a lot of The Phantom Tollbooth. I had to read that book for school in eighth grade, and for the first half or so I HATED it. Then at some point I realized it was actually kind of funny, and after that I enjoyed it pretty well. Thankfully, when I had to read Wonderland for school, I knew what I was getting into, and so I had a pretty chill time of it.

So when I decided to read this one, I basically knew ahead of time what it would be. And it was.
