This book really blew my away. It was the first I’d heard of the real life reformatory, and while horrified by so much in this book that actually happened, it was even more eerie and frightening to have the added supernatural element in this story. I adored the characters and was surprised by
the middle of the book twist-didn’t see it coming
. I was gripped from pretty much the get go and fell into the story with ease. I was even further touched as I read knowing the author based this on her real life relative, which made it all the more engaging but also sad. Terrific read - really highly recommend.
