I devoured this book like a favourite meal. Yes, I may have eaten things that tasted similarly, but this one added some twists to familiar storylines that made it quite unique still.
Especially the flawed main character was a joy to follow along. I adored her overflowing ambition as well as her empathetic approach to matters. The romance did kind of fall behind a bit but I did not mind at all, as the rest of the plot was quite intriguing on it‘s own. It felt like a twisted fairytale that kept the audience at the edge of their seats.
I will admit, however, that the last third of the book didn‘t feel as exciting as the rest - it was a bit anticlimactic.
