I liked this book a lot. I will say the first half of the book was a bit slow. I understand it was necessary to build the political background and introduce the reader to the world but still. It was much slower than the second half of the book. I loved the authors writing style it was impeccable. I did however, feel like there could have been more explanation given to the disciples. There was never really a good description of each of them at any point in the book so during the battle scenes when they were referenced, it was difficult for me to work out exactly what was going on. I also felt like Hilo wasn’t a fully fleshed out character like there is still more to him that I don’t understand. This could be because of something that happens in the second book but idk it was just something I noticed.
