The Kite Runner
by Khaled Hosseini
Such an amazing book! As soon as I started reading its pages, I knew it would be one of my favorites. From the beginning, we know something terrible happens and during the first few chapters of the book, the author sets the story up, building to that moment.
I was captivated from the start. Reading about the narrator’s childhood brought to me so many emotions. The whole book itself is very emotional. I detached a bit during the middle when the narrator talks about his time in America. But once the narrator returns home as an adult, I was again enamored with the story, anticipating its end. I would take the long way to work just to spend a little more time on the bus reading the book. It was that good! And ultimately the end was satisfying. I look forward to reading other novels by this same author.
