Verity by Colleen Hoover
3.0
dark tense fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Plot
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: No
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

A page turner that was enjoyable and a good break from my usual reads. Overall, I found the plot to be largely unbelievable, which irks me in suspense novels. I’d rather see them do something that could realistically happen in our world, that makes it so much more stressful/fun to read.
The characters were blah, the relationships were meh, there was no character development. The whole story made me feel “icky” and then the ending bothered me. But I did enjoy the change of pace, it was a very easy and quick read.

I think this is a book for people who read for the plot and like page turners. If you’re looking for stories that make sense, literary artistry, or any level of character development, it’s not here.
