It had so much potential for the first 20 pages. This and numerous other quotes of fantasizing about dead children and children who were hurting made me stop reading. It felt exploitative. “When both children are asleep, I lick their little fingertips one by one, and blow out the candles.” (34) I can’t go for that! Weird and not necessary to read from the POV of a creep like this.
