I… really don't know how to rate this.
On a technical level, it's a five. Brilliantly written and unsettling—but it's precisely because it's so unsettling that I'm struggling. Watching Agnes and Zoe's relationship wave at the concepts of SSC and RACK (Safe, Sane and Consensual and Risk-Aware Consensual Kink) as their Domme x Sub relationship spirals into something horrific was a trip. I'm not normally someone whose stomach is turned while reading but congrats to Eric LaRocca, he made it happen, as well as reaffirming why I don't like to cook pork.
So where do I rate this? Five stars for the punches LaRocca packs in just a few short chapters? One or two stars for the unhinged, nauseating descent into madness? The whole reason I read this book was to fulfill the criteria "Is Rated Less Than Three Stars on Goodreads," so I guess we'll split it down the middle and leave it right at that three star rating.
