Well, it was no Metamorphosis, I'll tell you that. I'm torn, because I would have been so mad if I had to read this in school, but I also feel like I need a literature teacher to hold my hand through interpreting this text. I ended up feeling like the author's point was to make me feel as hopeless and frustrated as the main character. (I understand this novel was unfinished and published against the author's wishes. But still.)
