I was hooked after the first chapter! If you are one who enjoys Sherlock Holmes, mystery, retellings and fascinating female leads then I would suggest this book. The novel follows Charlotte Holmes after her fall from society. She uses her skills of observation and deduction (along with the help of Mrs. Watson) to keep from depending on a man. All while solving the deaths of 3 seemingly unconnected people. I laughed out loud from the witty retorts and Charlotte's inability to fully understand the workings of other minds at times. With a hint of romance, sisterly love, and a mystery that keeps you guessing until the end, A Study in Scarlet Women is a read that you do not want to pass up.
