Rolling in the Deep by Mira Grant

3.0

It's been a while since I've read a novella so I was a elated to be flying through a book but sad to feel it coming to an end so quickly. For 120+ pages, I had a great respect for the captain, started to feel my heart strings pluck for the performing "mermaids", and I appreciated the lack of flattery for the true mermaids aka no gorgeous flowing hair, shell style bras, etc. Mira made them sound realistic, at least how close they might actually be if they were to exist. My only complaint would be that I wish there was more details on the crews final moments, especially the "boss" level.
