I'm a simple woman, I see Black Vampire in a Black Magical School, I read. I see the vision of what Granger is trying to do and I'm here for it. The world building is amazing and I enjoyed discovering this unique adjacent world. I love that it's not just vampires and werewolves but all mythical creatures and we're solving a mystery. And how unapologetically Black this book is; I also appreciated the author's notes at the end.
In the beginning the different POVs threw me off but as the story progressed it was appreciated however it does kind of make the story a little confusing in the beginning. This book also needed some more editing, especially during the last quarter of the book, especially the pace which felt a bit off towards the end. Some of the grammatical errors did take me out of the story, especially this gem, "scuze me". It's used six times and maybe it's just a choice, but why?? In the context, they were ever so random.
That being said I can't wait to find out what happens next!
