Natives: Race and Class in the Ruins of Empire by Akala

challenging informative medium-paced

4.0

this book is incredibly informative and i always love reading books on race and colonisation from a british perspective. there’s a lot to learn in here and some chapters are extremely interesting and have a lot of knowledge packed in. i will say though, that some chapters towards the end aren’t as focused as some of the earlier chapters, and at some points i was a little confused as to how we ended up where we did. with that being said, it’s a really valuable read and i’ll recommend it for years to come.
