Being a fan of Critical Role (especially campaign 2) I was super excited to hear that this book was actually going to be made. That being said, I absolutely enjoyed reading this book!
This book is a fun palette cleanser with just the right amount of spice. It's not extremely graphic and the spice is not dragged out. It doesn't take over the story either, we get a variety of different aspects that occur during an adventure in between the spicey scenes.
You do not need to know anything about Critical Role to enjoy this book!
