This book trues to explore what happens when a virus makes animal meat inedible, bringing forth the need for humans to be bred for consumption. It often felt like there was gore and abuse presented for shock value rather than to make a social commentary. This novel could have been far more reflective regarding the dehumanisation of people bred for meat and experimentation. An interesting concept but I didn't enjoy the execution
