The Light at the Bottom of the World by London Shah

1.0

I skimmed through this. Honestly, I wanted to like this. The concept is neat, but overall the story was bland. So many familiar tropes were involved here that nothing shocked me. And I didn't connect with any of the characters enough to make reading worth my time.

Honestly, it kind of felt like a really dumbed down version of the Newsflesh trilogy. Underwater monsters instead of zombies, but same kind of concept with the government being corrupt and creating fear.

But this book had none of the charm or emotional impact as the Newsflesh trilogy. Plus, the dog was pointless. No purpose whatsoever for a character that's actually fairly heavily used in the book.
