Oh, this book was hard. I think there is little in life more difficult for me than the death of a child, even if that child is an adult. This focused on the long term effects of such a death on a family - not only how did it hit the parents, but also the siblings. I took a little extra time to read it because of how emotionally challenging it could be, in particular around the parents in the beginning. I think I would have liked a little more from the ending, and a little more from Edgar’s storyline, but overall I loved it. One of my goals is to read more indigenous literature, and this was definitely a reminder of why it is important to do so.
