I appreciated how diverse the characters were. I found Ghost to be a relatable character. The scene with Piper made me smile. His promise that he asks of Gemma, spoke out to me, and it stuck with me throughout the rest of the story.
I felt nervous and uneasy for all the characters whenever they encountered Mr. Crowley. His character did keep my curiosity going throughout the story.
I liked Malik and Brett. I felt angry at their treatment by people who were supposed to be there to help and others who mishandled them. I think Malik's scene in the motel room was very emotional. Those scenes were the hardest for me to hear. Malik's compassion, even after everything,  towards Saint in the bathroom made me want to cry.
I felt myself flinching numerous times when the f-word was being used. I recently had to deal with this wording in my personal life, so to hear this story. It was a nice reminder that we aren't the monsters that some make us out to be.
