I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy

5.0

Wow.

There’s a part where Jennette mentions people who haven’t experienced loss not fully understanding those who have, and I think the same could be said about complicated familial relationships. If you have a tough history with a family member, this book will resonate.

The writing is structured in a way that feels quick, it’s like a collection of life snippets but still takes you through her journey in a full picture way. It’s very witty, and the way she explained the difference between where her mind was at vs how she presented herself to others was clear and to the point. There’s no fluff or intention to be something deeply profound. It’s genuine. It’s Jennette.

Highly recommend listening to the audiobook as well.
