The Jakarta Pandemic by Steven Konkoly
3.0

I chose this book based on the game Pandemic - one of the cities in the game is Jakarta. Not sure I really wanted a pandemic book during the pandemic, but this is really more about the dynamics of the neighborhood, and how any sort of emergency might bring us down to base impulses. The pandemic was just a way to get there. Interestingly, they mention Therraflu and Tamiflu a lot - and I don't recall anyone suggesting those for COVID -- not sure it would have helped, but flu like symptoms, and no one suggested the anti-virals? Maybe I just missed it.

This was a pretty fast read, it kept me wanting to turn to the next page. Good writing, enjoyable characters (some were flat, but the main ones - the Fletcher family - had some depth). I am not sure I will continue with the series, as there was a lot of explaining of the weapons and the stockpile, that was just not my thing.
