The Serial Killer's Wife
by Alice Hunter
Ummm…. Right…. So….
It was a quick read, fast paced, and it did keep me on the edge. But it really fell flat:
All that inner monologue about “tom’s innocent, he’s got to be innocent” really threw me off.
Unreliable main character? Yes but that’s not the issue, the issue was how it was done.
To waffle on for 300 pages saying “there’s no way Tom would’ve done this!!” And then suddenly switch at the drop of a hat. No build up to it, no hints, no break of character. Just a complete switch…. AND IT SUCKED AS A REVEAL!!!!
Basically: the first 250 pages were wasted.
