I found this book really fun! The characters were loveable, if not super fleshed out. I loved our English mycologist the most, and Hobb was so endearing. i enjoyed that this story had a couple of funny moments. It was serious when it needed to be and lighthearted when it wanted to be.

The plot was pretty predictable, but that was kind of fun because you were tracking the foreshadowing and getting excited for the big reveal.

I loved the hares. They gave me chills. The scene where Easton was looking to kill one and discovered more about what they really are was so scary in the best way.

I wasn’t super big on Madeline’s final appearance? I don’t know. It kind of took away a lot of the scariness for me. I guess that’s the dilemma of having mysteries be solved, is that once you understand you’re a lot less scared.

Overall this was a great little book! I totally recommend if you think Cordyceps fungus are scary.
